Dear Tibor,
Thank you very much for all the great information on your website. This is truly amazing what you have put together here.
In your picture archives I found a photo U.S.A. S At Rhine river, Germany 7 March 1945 3rd Army of a Jeep with the hood number 20234134 and I was wondering
if you could point me to the source of this picture and if you maybe have more context you can share with me.
I think I recognize one of the soldiers and would love to know more about this picture.
With kind regards,
Michael Hirsch

Your site ist one of the best I've seen in Europe, congratulation!
I'm searching now for a Willys-Club or Military-Vehicles Group in or near Budapest to join them.
Best Regards
Ralf

Welcome to Hungary, Budapest! Thanks for the words of praise about my site. Unfortunately there isn't military vehicle club near Budapest, and I have no information on Willys club here in Budapest. If you give me your contact e-mail address I can help you about your jeep if would have any trouble with it. One of my friend is a jeep expert and he have a workshop and speak english fluency. Ah! Almost forgot! And he has an M38A1 jeep too.
Best regards,
Tibor

Hello, my name is Joaquim
Do you know the year and month of this picture?
Is it possible to know who the officer (writing in the jeep's hood) is?
Where was this photo taken?
Thank you for all the historical data you provide everyone!!
Many thanks for your answer :)
Válasz:
Hi Joaquim,
The original caption read “Gen Dwight D. Eisenhower, Supreme Allied Commander, signs “short snorter bills” for soldiers at a camp in France. The soldiers are all former inmates of German prisoner of war camps and are waiting to be sent back to the United States. St Valery En Caus, France, 5/22/45” Photo is at the US NARA.
Best regards,
Tibor

Hello
My name is Budi and I am the owner of January 1945 MB which has pats majority of it career in the French army (between 1951 and 1981 for sure)
Your website is really good, especially your collection of photos of hood numbers
I’m looking in my research to find WW2 pictures with hood registration number near of mine (estimated 20675904 which is the good one or very near - based on Jeep database : 503 G, John Farley , Etc.).
In your picture collection you have a Jeep with number 20676012. I had access to the original photos and the real number is 20676072. Mention on the back is "1945 - Vincennes," i.e France Paris area, and Dragon Barracks certainly.
The Willys has the marking of the free French Army registration number on the bumper + French flag on the bumper and near the wheel).
Could someone help me to find picture of a Willys with hood number near of the mine
Best regards
Budi

Hello,
Would it be possible to find out where you got this photo from? I contacted the Oklahoma Historical Society (their watermark is on the photo) and they couldn't find it in their database.
